I can see Eve and Shane getting killed during this series at some point and Claire and Michael falling in love.

It took A LOT of self-control to put the book down so I would have enough sleep to be functional at work the next day. I would call it a great favor if you would visit.

Well, that’s all I’m gonna say without leaking spoilers like a hose: He never fails to make laugh. Claire and Eve soon realise that this film project, featuring the vampires themselves, is a whole lot bigger – and way more dangerous – than anyone suspected.

So what was this sudden impulse for spring cleaning? As the story closes, Eve and Shane make a deal that might just cost them more than they are willing to sacrifice.

Not much a plot, a bit more tidying up the loose ends kind of a read. We got to meet Amelie’s sister but then we never fadd from her again. And then it was gone. Even though I found the novel to be less gripping than the rest of the series, I think Rachel Caine’s style and writer’s voice gets stronger with each work.

It was metal, but it was surprisingly light.

Claire, eyes wide, nodded. They like a good play, although they’re usually not so hot on the musicals. So, with Carpe Corpus, the sixth book in the series, we had the end of the six book long story arc. The alley next to the Day House—a virtually identical twin to the Glass House where Claire lived, only with different curtains and nicer porch furniture—looked the same. I felt like the story ended in a good place at the end of Carpe Corpusand after reading Fade Out, I’m thinking Caine might should have just stopped there.

Claire had forgotten all about the box and even Bob the spiderso focused was she on Myrnin’s voice, but when he paused, she remembered, and reached in again to pull out an ornate gold hand mirror. It makes him sound as if he looks like a grandpa. I would think Amelie would want to keep her close, keep that connection through the bracelet but maybe she sees that as slavery. It was made especially strange by her outfit: After that ending I cannot wait to get my hands on Kiss of Death.

Funny and imaginative, the Morganville Vampires books go from strength to strength.

Fade Out: The Morganville Vampires Series, Book 7

What does this installment give us? In the hallway, their roommate Eve was having a total fit—screaming, bouncing in hoppy little circles like a demented Goth bunny. So, overall a good book, less action, but it had it’s strengths in other way, and makes me eager for the next one.

The job also brought decent money, according to Shane, and as a plus, he got to use a sharp knife most of the day, carving meats. Amelie had given humans equality with vampires, Bishop was dead, everything is just dandy now, surely?

Fade Out: The Morganville Vampires Book Seven by Rachel Caine – Penguin Books Australia

Eve is a bitch, Claire is useless, and Shane is an ass. Then things started taking shape and I gobbled up the second half in no time.

It makes it super easy to get lost in the book and there’s always something happening to Claire and Co.

Claire, Eve, Shane and Michael are part of the Glass House and have banned together to keep each other safe from evil doers.
