After all, the pile of vampire schlock on video shelves could induce coma-style symptoms in even the most tightly wound insomniac. This was bittenn pretty good book. Sparks fly and fires follow and not the way you think.
But this book, like the others, strikes me as “almost”–there’s almost character growth, the plots are almost detailed, the action is almost exciting This book was actually alot better than the first one. She has attitude problems and borders on being a sociopath. This, so far, is the best in the series.
Dsath seventh novel, Bitten in Two, which takes place in Marrakech, is due to be published next month. This particular Trust holds particular danger for Vayl as it was the very one he escaped from a very long time ago.

The situation with Cole is really starting to grate on my nerves. Think Jason Bourne meets Cat and Bones it makes for one intense ride.
In fact I bet the only reason he seems to be going after her so hard is the fact that he can’t actually have Jaz. First we get Jaz, Vayl and David being to sent to the Trust that Vayl was once a member of, to stop a possible Samos takeover. Loved her in Firefly. Rardin recently completed the eighth and final Jaz and Vayl novel The Deadliest Bite, due to be published in and a young adult fantasy, Shadowstruck. When they arrive, they find out that the Deyrar, the leader of the Trust is not whom they thought it was.
Their mission is thrown into chaos and their lives into danger when they arrive to find that their contact and the leader of the Trust is dead and the new leader has an agenda of her own. She took away the easy outs that have weakened the last two books; Jaz can’t turn to the team of specialists-cum-friends to avoid facing difficult scenes or risking pushing herself emotionally and physically; Rardin forced herself to write the hard scenes where all three major characters face their failings and their hopes. This was a good book. He may think he loves her, but deep down I think she is just a “safe” outlet for him. A kick-ass heroine, a hot vampire boss, quirky and fun sidekicks and a lot jennifer action and adventure… What else can you ask of an Urban Fantasy series?
Poor Jaz can’t seem to get through to Cole.
